What do you love about being outside?
"There is something therapeutic about nature. I think we all know it instinctively that the natural environment is good for us and there is some great scientific research showing the truth of it! Being outside is both energising and relaxing. I have personally seen the benefits of improved health in this role and I am grateful!"
What is your favourite quote or mantra?
What disorders do you specialise in?
"My areas of specialty include Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Sleep Hygiene, Relaxation and Self-Care, Parenting strategies and Improving Communication."
What about your training sets you apart from the rest?
"My favourite areas are Mindfulness and Positive Psychology; although I have experience in a variety of therapies and prefer to tailor the sessions to the individual – no two people are the same and I enjoy finding helpful strategies to suit the person in front of me. "
Helen talks about her experience here:
"I started Psychology 15 years ago. I have completed my undergraduate degree, postgraduate diploma, full registration as a Psychologist and have an article published in the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology. I have learned so much along the way and intend to continue learning for the rest of my life. I have been with Walk Different since 2015 and I love how this role has extended me! "
